Steph begins to solidify her return by running 15:59 in the BAA5k last Saturday, while Annie Lowe pushed through a ridiculously hot day and arduous second half of her marathon to finish. Read her awesome letter to the Boston Marathon:
Dear Boston Marathon,
You've got spunk! At mile 12 I started laughing at your edgy attitude and said, well, this is gonna be fun—and with humbled respect shuffled over the next 14 miles! Record-breaking stats: 87 deg. 4300 dnf's, 4000 deferred to 2013, 6 elite dnf's, off my projected time by 40 min, and I still love you??!! You're undeniable! Hardest day ever and I will be back!! Best quote of the day, "Well, that was my PW. Personal worst," she said with a smile. Best act of the day: dude who crosses the finish line walking on his hands because his legs no longer worked.
That was wicked haha.
Love,
Annie Loe (Girl with the Picky Bar Shirt)
Great Job Girls!!!

Ok, so my goal for this coming week is to go to the gym on Tues/Thursday to do wethigs , walk/run 3 miles on Mon/Wed/Saturday and walk on Friday. I love to be outside- do not like getting on the treadmill unless I absolutely have to! I usually take my dogs with me but this is going to have to change because with all the stopping for them to pee just does not cut getting your heart rate up!I did a 10k 2 weeks ago but ended up having to walk the last 3 miles due to plantar facisitis (?) so my time was horrible. Actually I was doing it because I was determined to do a race and I really did not care about how long it took, although it really crushed my ego to see it! Don’t you love the race crowd? I used to live in Atlanta (and before that close to Atlanta) and would do the Peachtree 10k on July 4th! That is a HUGE race! I think it is the biggest 10k in the country. Last time I did it was about 10 yrs ago and they stopped taking entrants at 45,000!!!!! How long did it take you to lose the 68lbs? I get so fixated on the amount that I have to lose it just overwhelms me! But I think with a year to lose it ( want to lose 70 lbs) and just wanting to get back to my former in shape self I can do it. I think having montly goals will be a great way to break it down.Well I am off to walk and then going to see Brides Maids with friends. Have a great day and get to that boxing gym and mark that goal off your list. I am excited about reaching our goals!

I think the 1/2 marathon in October is a great goal! I’ve been lkooing for one near me in the Sept/Oct time frame so we could definitley help each other get there and meet that goal! I ran my first 5k on 4/30, I run a 10k on 6/14. Right now I’m up to running 4 miles at a time so I have a lot of work to do. Skipping meals is a definite no-no. I’m going to try and plan out my meals later today, shop and prepare everything tomorrow. I think I will go out and pick up a new cooler bag and tupperware for work too. I know what you mean by being scared to go to the gym. You just need to put your head down and do it. In all honesty no one there is watching what you are doing. I was nervous as first to get back in the weight room but I love it. I’m typically the only female in the weight room full of guys but for some reason I love it. I felt the same about group classes. I was petrified. It wasn’t until a friend brought me to a spin class that I started and that opened up a whole new world for me. I was instantly in love. And it’s amazing how supportive everyone in the classes have been too. One of my goals for the month is to join a boxing gym. I’m going away on May 26th so really I have just 11 days left to accomplish my goal. Why don’t we work at the goal together? You get back in the gym and I join a boxing gym in the next 11 days. There’s still plenty of time to procrastinate but also to accomplish it too!
